Dating back to 1778, The Captain's House is a superb period house and one of Whitstable's most historic landmarks. It was originally owned by Captain Jasper Rowden, a famous oyster dredger.
The Captain's House Apartment is a suite of rooms at the top of the house and it offers both traditional bed & breakfast and self catering accommodation all with a contemporary twist, for both short breaks and longer relaxing holidays. The suite of rooms is in what was once the old Sail Loft and comprises of two rooms - a large double bedroom with en-suite bathroom, and a sitting room with sofa bed and kitchen facilities.
The house is located in the thriving and exciting, historic Harbour Street which is full of interesting shops, delicatessans, art galleries, bistros and boutiques. It is also only a few minutes from the beach and harbour, with it's famous oyster and fish markets.
A two room suite - large bedroom with double bed. En suite bathroom with roll-top bath and shower attachment. A sitting room with double sofa and kitchen facilities: small fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, microwave.
