A peaceful rural getaway in a cosy lodge, ideal for couples and their four-legged friends. Within easy reach of local attraction and facilities.

A contemporary lodge located within an area of outstanding natural beauty. Alverstone Ponds is the ideal location for a romantic getaway and to explore the delights of the Isle of Wight. You can even bring your four-legged friend along. Sandown with its’ wide range of attractions and facilities, to include wonderful local cafes, bars and restaurants, is within easy access. With a wonderful selection of seaside resorts nearby you are truly spoilt for choice to keep you entertained during your stay.

Head through the lodge’s patio doors, into the stylish open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner which comes complete with electric oven and hob, microwave and fridge/freezer. The dining table is a great place to enjoy a continental breakfast or a sumptuous evening meal cooked up in the well-equipped kitchen with electric oven and hob, microwave and under counter fridge/freezer. After a full-on day exploring why not retreat to the comfy sofa in front of the cosy wood burner and enjoy either your favorite film on TV or the beautiful views over the ponds, enjoying the ever changing scenery. The master bedroom, that also benefits from those beautiful ponds views, features a double bed and a wall mounted TV. Finally, the spacious shower room and WC completes the interior of this lodge.

Sit out and enjoy the views overlooking the water, from the lodges decked balcony. Chose either the patio furniture here or head down to the lower part of this outdoor area, where you have access to some more rattan furniture for a more up and close experience of those carp jumping in the water. On-site allocated parking is available through gated access. Private fishing is available for a fee payable direct to the owner. There is also the use of a shared utility area with a washer/dryer.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

This beautiful cottage is the nicest place we have stayed in the uk It is so peaceful and relaxing We felt like we were alone with a gorgeous lake of our own Everything you could possibly need is suppled even a bottle of wine to keep you going when you arrive The owners Paul and Chris are lovely There if you need any help but totally unobtrusive otRead moreherwise We cant wait to go back and are already looking at next year Hide

Perfect! Everything we needed plus more! Super comfy bed. Wine in fridge which we celebrated with after cycling round the island! Home made biscuits, dolce gusto/pods, different teas, sugar, milk! There was Netflix in living and bedroom, tho you may not need as its so nice to sit out watching the birds and eat your meals. Its on the red squirrel trRead moreail and the round the island cycle route. Theres bbqs and bike shed plus off road parking. Lots of footpaths close by! Would come back 100%! Hide

Whitstable is one of Kent’s most popular seaside towns, not only for its long shingle beaches, dotted with colourful huts and houses, but also for its annual Oyster Festival, when the town really comes alive. Here you can sample this renowned delicacy which has been collected in the area since Roman times and brings visitors from all over the globe to get a glimpse of the first catch of the season. Still a working harbour, you can sample a plethora of seafood from the stalls and restaurants as you watch the fishing boats return from sea, or pop up to the bohemian main street with its quirky colourful shops and galleries. Keep to the seaside theme and hire bikes to ride along the coast to Herne Bay just two miles away, or try the famous inland Crab and Winkle Way, which follows the old railway line between Whitstable and Canterbury and is packed with history and nostalgia. Relax with lazy days at the beach, building sandcastles and exploring hidden rock pools or take a long walk along the vast stretch of shingle beach. The area has lots of other beach walks, as well many country and woodland trails nearby, perfect for both you and the family dog! For a little culture, pay a visit to the town’s famous 18th century Castle and Gardens, Playhouse Theatre and Whitstable Museum and Gallery, all perfect for an afternoon or evening out. Only eight miles north of the cathedral city of Canterbury with its popular glass-fronted Marlowe Theatre, you are also just half an hour away from the up-and-coming seaside town of Margate and 45 minutes away from the port of Dover with its famous white cliffs. Slightly further afield, you will find the historic Cinque Ports towns of amongst others, Rye, Hastings and Tenterden where you will find a variety of spectacular monuments and beautiful castles to visit with all the family. Whitstable really is the perfect place for those who want to get back to how holidays used to be – full of fun, adventure and family.
