A fantastic beachside property located in the tranquil seaside village of Seasalter across from the local sailing club.

This compact property enjoys a fantastic beachside location in the village of Seasalter on Kent’s east coast and is part of the former Coastguard’s House which offers a wealth of history. This quiet village is home to a well-regarded gastropub that draws visitors from across the area and is just a short walk for guests staying at this property. With neighbouring town, Whitstable, only a short drive or a delightful forty-minute walk along the beach, guests can stroll around the many independent shops, galleries, restaurants, cafés and sample the local delicacy of freshly caught oysters. Those with young families may like to make use of the town’s leisure centre with its indoor pool or the fun bowling alley, whilst sporty visitors will love the fact that there are water sports centres where guests can try stand-up paddleboarding, sailing, and kite surfing. Those looking to explore the historical and cultural heritage of Kent can head to nearby Canterbury with its Marlow Theatre, Canterbury Cathedral, and historic architecture. Keen walkers can enjoy the many local footpaths that lead straight from the doorstep.

Enter from the main front door of this former coastguard station and head through your own private entrance into this ground floor apartment and into the tastefully finished open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner which is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy spending time together. The kitchen/dining area is the perfect spot to enjoy delicious meals that have been whipped up in the well-equipped kitchen, which offers an electric oven and hob, microwave and fridge with an ice compartment. After dinner enjoy relaxing on the comfy sofa in front of the Smart TV and catch up on your favourite programs. The apartment offers two bedrooms which lead off from the lounge area, a double with garden views and French doors that lead out into the garden, and a bunk room with bunk beds. The property is completed with a shower room and WC, accessible through the bunk room only.

Heading outside from the property there is a section of the shared garden available for guests, with a patio table and chairs and a charcoal BBQ. Enjoy relaxing with a glass of fizz whilst watching the sunset in the distance. There is private parking for one car. Whitstable is one of Kent’s most popular seaside towns, not only for its long shingle beaches, dotted with colourful huts and houses, but also for its annual Oyster Festival, when the town really comes alive. Here you can sample this renowned delicacy which has been collected in the area since Roman times and brings visitors from all over the globe to get a glimpse of the first catch of the season. Still a working harbour, you can sample a plethora of seafood from the stalls and restaurants as you watch the fishing boats return from sea, or pop up to the bohemian main street with its quirky colourful shops and galleries. Keep to the seaside theme and hire bikes to ride along the coast to Herne Bay just two miles away, or try the famous inland Crab and Winkle Way, which follows the old railway line between Whitstable and Canterbury and is packed with history and nostalgia. Relax with lazy days at the beach, building sandcastles and exploring hidden rock pools or take a long walk along the vast stretch of shingle beach. The area has lots of other beach walks, as well many country and woodland trails nearby, perfect for both you and the family dog! For a little culture, pay a visit to the town’s famous 18th century Castle and Gardens, Playhouse Theatre and Whitstable Museum and Gallery, all perfect for an afternoon or evening out. Only eight miles north of the cathedral city of Canterbury with its popular glass-fronted Marlowe Theatre, you are also just half an hour away from the up-and-coming seaside town of Margate and 45 minutes away from the port of Dover with its famous white cliffs. Slightly further afield, you will find the historic Cinque Ports towns of amongst others, Rye, Hastings and Tenterden where you will find a variety of spectacular monuments and beautiful castles to visit with all the family. Whitstable really is the perfect place for those who want to get back to how holidays used to be – full of fun, adventure and family.
