Experience traditional Scottish cottage life at this beautiful property in Glendale on the Isle of Skye. This magical hideaway is perfectly located for enjoying days out at the island's best spots – head to the striking Neist Point Lighthouse (3 miles) or look around Dunvegan Castle and Gardens (11 miles) or why not head further afield to discover geographical delights such as Old Man of Storr (35 miles). When you're weary from the sea air and new sights, retreat to this welcoming property for quiet nights in before doing it all again tomorrow.

The cottage is vibrant white with thick stone walls, deep-set windows and a prominent chimney. Inside, decorative touches such as paintings, cushions and throws make it feel homely and inviting. The main space has an open-plan layout with a kitchen, dining area and lounge all in one area. Extra light enters through skylights in the roof. There's a gorgeous traditional stone fireplace with a wood burner nestled inside which you can light to keep you both cosy, plus a TV with Sky that you can watch together curled up on the sofa. Take a shower in the bathroom, resting your towel on the heated rail so it's warm when you get out, then retire to the four-poster bedroom for a restorative night's sleep.

Outside, you'll find a seating area overlooking the sea with a picnic bench where you can have lunch on warmer days. There's private parking for your vehicle.

Location of this cottage nestled on the hillside is superb, with ever changing views across the bay and cliffs. Enjoyed exploring the local area, with surprises round every corner. Cosy comfortable cottage, great for the dogs.

Absolutely stunning location, fantastic views, very comfortable cottage. Love the wood burning stove and the authentic appearance of the house. Easy self check-in. You need to be ok with carpets where dogs have been before you. Not ideal cleanliness but it's a rustic setting. A bit short on household supplies so plan your shopping. We found the cottage cosy, well equipped and the location is excellent. We would recommend you take time at night to look at the stars, you will never get a better view of the heavens at night. All in all excellent value for money.

The cottage was lovely and the location was superb. The cottage is found down a single track road and is quite remote but is a fantastic base for seeing the island. The cottage comes well equiped with plenty kitchen utensils a micrwave, toaster and washer dryer. Very special and unique crofters cottage and location. About as fas away from civilisation as we know it - if youre a city dweller. Loved the wood burner and the ease of getting a fire started. Authentic Skye! Lovely traditional style property in absolutely stunning location. Truly beautiful!! We had such a relaxing time with days spent out walking and exploring and nights spent by the fire. Great break had by both humans and dog!

Lovely location . A cosy cottage ,the bathroom was smaller than expected. Not suitable for dogs as no secure place to let them out.

Overall this is a gorgeous traditional and sweet little cottage. The four poster bed has THE most comfortable mattress ever!! We had the best most relaxing sleeps here and felt extremely relaxed and comfy! The little kitchen is perfect for just 2 people. I loved looking at the large open fireplace imagining what it has seen throughout it's life as Read morean original Croft cottage! The wood burner was brilliant and made it cozy and warm. Great location although more remote than ad implies. Stunning views and walks. Anyone with dogs should be aware there are free roaming sheep almost everywhere

Location was fantastic I have never seen such clear night skys with bright stars. Very peaceful and enjoyed holiday. Would recommend visitors looking to cook to bring own utensils as these were poor. Pans were ready for the bin and knives were blunt.

This is a lovely cosy little cottage in a beautiful setting. We were so lucky to have three stags in the grounds beside the cottage when we arrived and we only had one bad day of rain and wind in the week.The tv had a good reception but you had to walk a little from the cottage to get a phone signal. Whitstable is one of Kent’s most popular seaside towns, not only for its long shingle beaches, dotted with colourful huts and houses, but also for its annual Oyster Festival, when the town really comes alive. Here you can sample this renowned delicacy which has been collected in the area since Roman times and brings visitors from all over the globe to get a glimpse of the first catch of the season. Still a working harbour, you can sample a plethora of seafood from the stalls and restaurants as you watch the fishing boats return from sea, or pop up to the bohemian main street with its quirky colourful shops and galleries. Keep to the seaside theme and hire bikes to ride along the coast to Herne Bay just two miles away, or try the famous inland Crab and Winkle Way, which follows the old railway line between Whitstable and Canterbury and is packed with history and nostalgia. Relax with lazy days at the beach, building sandcastles and exploring hidden rock pools or take a long walk along the vast stretch of shingle beach. The area has lots of other beach walks, as well many country and woodland trails nearby, perfect for both you and the family dog! Slightly further afield, you will find the historic Cinque Ports towns of amongst others, Rye, Hastings and Tenterden where you will find a variety of spectacular monuments and beautiful castles to visit with all the family.
