Perfect family retreat to relax, enjoy activities and explore the heritage, culture and countryside in Wales and its borders, before coming back to the enclosed to enjoy a BBQ.

This part of Carmarthenshire is famed for its great outdoors and fantastic scenery. This property is set in 60 acres of countryside on the edge of the Brecon Beacons and is a short walk from the Crychan Forest which has a variety of picnic sites, bridleways, walking, running and cycling trails. Within a short drive from the property, many other cycling and walking routes can be found including Cwm Rhaeadr, the famous Tywi Valley, Gap mountain bike and Elan Valley trails to name but a few. Beset with beautiful landscape views and wildlife hotspots including the beautiful red kites, photographers will be delighted by the location of this property. Mountain bike options include the Coed Trallwm Mountain Bike and Visitor Centre among many. The nearby villages offer a Land Rover course, clay pigeon shooting and Llanwrtyd Wells, a short drive, holds such events as the Man Versus Horse race and even bog snorkelling.

This charming property has been creatively furnished providing stylish accommodation full of interesting features and thoughtful little extras to enhance your comfort during your stay. Stepping into the property there is a spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The lounge has comfortable sofas to sit on whilst watching the TV/DVD, along with a warming open fire perfect for cosy nights in watching your favourite programmes. The dining area benefits from an outstanding countryside view to enjoy over a delicious meal, rustled up with the local ingredients you have purchased on your travels. The kitchen area is equipped with everything you need to cook up some regional fare with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, toaster and dishwasher. There is a utility room leading off the kitchen with a freezer and washing machine. Adjacent to the utility room there is a separate WC and a bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC. Heading up to the first floor, you will find a double room and a twin room, perfect to rest your head after a busy day exploring.

Outside, the enclosed private garden has a lawn and gravel area embracing the uninterrupted views of the surrounding countryside with a garden table and chairs to sit and relax whilst planning the next day activities. There is also parking at the front of the property. Please note this property has a private water supply.

The cottage was immaculately clean upon arrival. Well equipped cottage to make for a comfortable stay. Nice and peaceful exactly what we wanted.

Whitstable is one of Kent’s most popular seaside towns, not only for its long shingle beaches, dotted with colourful huts and houses, but also for its annual Oyster Festival, when the town really comes alive. Here you can sample this renowned delicacy which has been collected in the area since Roman times and brings visitors from all over the globe to get a glimpse of the first catch of the season. Still a working harbour, you can sample a plethora of seafood from the stalls and restaurants as you watch the fishing boats return from sea, or pop up to the bohemian main street with its quirky colourful shops and galleries. Keep to the seaside theme and hire bikes to ride along the coast to Herne Bay just two miles away, or try the famous inland Crab and Winkle Way, which follows the old railway line between Whitstable and Canterbury and is packed with history and nostalgia. Relax with lazy days at the beach, building sandcastles and exploring hidden rock pools or take a long walk along the vast stretch of shingle beach. The area has lots of other beach walks, as well many country and woodland trails nearby, perfect for both you and the family dog! For a little culture, pay a visit to the town’s famous 18th century Castle and Gardens, Playhouse Theatre and Whitstable Museum and Gallery, all perfect for an afternoon or evening out. Only eight miles north of the cathedral city of Canterbury with its popular glass-fronted Marlowe Theatre, you are also just half an hour away from the up-and-coming seaside town of Margate and 45 minutes away from the port of Dover with its famous white cliffs. Slightly further afield, you will find the historic Cinque Ports towns of amongst others, Rye, Hastings and Tenterden where you will find a variety of spectacular monuments and beautiful castles to visit with all the family. Whitstable really is the perfect place for those who want to get back to how holidays used to be – full of fun, adventure and family.
