A cosy and inviting Cornish cottage which offers the perfect location for those wishing to explore quaint fishing villages nearby.

Set in the unique village of Charlestown this historic property with original beams is crafted from granite and oozes charm. Located within easy walking distance of the Quay which has some fine pubs and restaurants to cater for all tastes.

We’re thrilled to be including this attractive cottage within our Joules Collection. Its appealing mix of contemporary interiors mixed with charming period features work perfectly with the fun, bold designs featured in Joules homeware range.

Within walking distance, you can discover The Tall Ships at Charlestown and the setting for the Poldark TV series. A perfect place to relax on the historic quay where time has stood still. St Austell Bay has a fabulous coastline with some lovely walks, sheltered coves and traditional fishing villages including Fowey to the east and Mevagissey to the west. Attractions include The Eden Project, The Ship Wreck Centre, Lost Gardens of Heligan, Poldark mine, St Michaels Mount, and National Trust properties including nearby Lanhydrock house.

Entering this contemporary ground-floor apartment you will find yourself in the stylish open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining area. This area of the property has been thoughtfully designed to mix contemporary with tradition as it features original beams and colourful décor. The fully equipped kitchen comprises electric oven and hob, wine chiller, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer. The dining space is a perfect area for two or four looking to enjoy that relaxing evening meal after a hectic day exploring, there's always the option of settling on the sofa bed in the lounge area, complete with Smart TV and Bose sound dock, ideal for catching up on you favourite programmes. The tastefully decorated bedroom has a king-size bed and TV. The modern shower room is found next to the bedroom with shower and WC. There is also gated off-road parking for one car.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

What a little gem this cottage is everything you could want was there. It's been exceptionally decorated and fitted out, the solid oak bed was the bed I wanted to take home very comfortable. Stones Throw is a really lovely place to stay. Perfectly situated to visit Cornwall and a lovely walk to the harbour. The cottage is very well equipped and so comfortable. We had a fabulous time. An amazing stay, we honestly can't fault a thing. Best sleep we've had away, the cottage was modern, clean with all the equipment you'd need. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Stones Throw. The owners were superb and were always available to offer help or recommendations when needed as well as leaving treats for us and the dog. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend this cottage for anyone looking for a cosy getaway, on the coast, in Cornwall.

Whitstable is one of Kent’s most popular seaside towns, not only for its long shingle beaches, dotted with colourful huts and houses, but also for its annual Oyster Festival, when the town really comes alive. Here you can sample this renowned delicacy which has been collected in the area since Roman times and brings visitors from all over the globe to get a glimpse of the first catch of the season. Still a working harbour, you can sample a plethora of seafood from the stalls and restaurants as you watch the fishing boats return from sea, or pop up to the bohemian main street with its quirky colourful shops and galleries. Keep to the seaside theme and hire bikes to ride along the coast to Herne Bay just two miles away, or try the famous inland Crab and Winkle Way, which follows the old railway line between Whitstable and Canterbury and is packed with history and nostalgia. Relax with lazy days at the beach, building sandcastles and exploring hidden rock pools or take a long walk along the vast stretch of shingle beach. The area has lots of other beach walks, as well many country and woodland trails nearby, perfect for both you and the family dog! For a little culture, pay a visit to the town’s famous 18th century Castle and Gardens, Playhouse Theatre and Whitstable Museum and Gallery, all perfect for an afternoon or evening out. Only eight miles north of the cathedral city of Canterbury with its popular glass-fronted Marlowe Theatre, you are also just half an hour away from the up-and-coming seaside town of Margate and 45 minutes away from the port of Dover with its famous white cliffs. Slightly further afield, you will find the historic Cinque Ports towns of amongst others, Rye, Hastings and Tenterden where you will find a variety of spectacular monuments and beautiful castles to visit with all the family. Whitstable really is the perfect place for those who want to get back to how holidays used to be – full of fun, adventure and family.
