Set in a pretty courtyard within the grounds of the owners thatched home this delightful single storey cottage is conveniently placed with the nearby town of Barnstaple, just a short drive away.

Barnstaple offers plenty to see and do, the characterful Pannier Market is worth a look and for those looking to walk or cycle it offers easy access to the popular Tarka Trail where you can enjoy traffic free space. Bideford with its maritime connections is also an interesting place to visit – where you can hop on the Oldenburg and enjoy a boat trip to Lundy Island. Beach lovers will love the numerous beaches in the area, including delightful Instow. The surfing hot spots of Croyde, Woolacombe and Westward Ho! also close by. Alternatively explore the pretty coastal villages of Appledore, Hartland and Clovelly. Exmoor National Park is just a short drive away where you can enjoy fabulous walks and scenery.

Stepping into this cute detached cottage you are greeted by an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, the lounge area has comfy seating surrounding the Smart TV, making this the perfect place to relax and catch up on your favourite programmes. A small dining table is located just off the lounge area to make mealtimes easy. The kitchen area is ready for the chef of the couple and is equipped with an electric oven and hob, fridge and dishwasher. Completing this property is the bedroom which has a double bed and an en-suite shower and WC.

Heading outside there is a patio area surrounded with shrubs and plants. There is a hot tub, garden furniture and a BBQ , ready for those lovely summer evenings. Guests at all the properties on this site have the freedom to wander the grounds and surrounding fields. There is a lake where you can fish (rods and tackle available). There is parking for one car.

Cosy accommodation in a lovely garden setting with a welcoming host, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We spent a magical break at the Sunset cottage. Zena made us feel at home straight away. A truly beautiful setting that is so peaceful. The pictures of the cottage do not do it justice it is immaculate. The hot tub is serviced every morning and the team work hard behind the scenes to make you feel special. We also made a friend for life in Molly/HoRead morelly. We will be returning and soon. 10/10 Hide

Amazing place ! Such a lovely cottage, very modern and well equipped Location really good, quite and hardly see others, private. Lovely small cottage. Views of sunsets amazing. Hot tub wonderful for elderly joints after long days walking and exploring this fantastic area. There are too many don't miss places you just have to come and plan your own days, Thank you Zena for a fabulous time. The scones and cream were a lovely touch.

What an amazing location and cottage. Perfect for exploring Devon and Cornwall. Very comfortable cottage with a cream tea , freshly laid eggs from Zena's chickens and a box of Maltesers to greet you. The owners dogs gave us a reason to walk around the fields and ponds each evening playing fetch with the ball. The property is perfect for two people. The gardens surrounding the cottage are beautiful and the sound of running water is lovely. We came back with loads of ideas for our garden! We had a lovely peaceful stay in Sunset Cottage, we loved it so much we plan to return next year for a two week stay. Beautiful garden and the dogs were a joy to see whenever we returned from a trip out. Love all the little extras Zena left round the cottage for us, especially the homemade scones. Sunset cottage was our first holiday together and it was so lovely, cosy, and welcoming. Really enjoyed the cream teas left for us, enjoyed giving the dogs they're treats, great idea! The pictures don't do this place justice, it is beautiful. Ms Burland is very kind and gave us lots of little added extras for our arrival like scones she made, tea bags, eggs etc. It is just lovely, well worth the money.

We were very happy with this lovely cottage and Zena and the 3 dogs gave us a very warm welcome. Its private and located within a beautiful gardens which you can walk around. The holiday cottage is delightful, well furnished & extremely comfortable. It is set in the most beautiful garden & a walk right round the property, accompanied by 3 dogs, was just lovely. Fabulous sunsets seen from the loggia having cooked a BBQ & from the hot tub.

What a gem. Everything you could want and more. So many personal touches. A really comfortable, if small cottage decorated to a high standard. Loads of private outdoor space to sit and watch the sun go down and so convenient for exploring Devon.

The cottage is small but very clean & neat. Zena is a wonderful host very friendly, welcoming & obliging. Without being in any way intrusive or interfering. No improvements required during our stay. Whitstable is one of Kent’s most popular seaside towns, not only for its long shingle beaches, dotted with colourful huts and houses, but also for its annual Oyster Festival, when the town really comes alive. Here you can sample this renowned delicacy which has been collected in the area since Roman times and brings visitors from all over the globe to get a glimpse of the first catch of the season. Still a working harbour, you can sample a plethora of seafood from the stalls and restaurants as you watch the fishing boats return from sea, or pop up to the bohemian main street with its quirky colourful shops and galleries. Keep to the seaside theme and hire bikes to ride along the coast to Herne Bay just two miles away, or try the famous inland Crab and Winkle Way, which follows the old railway line between Whitstable and Canterbury and is packed with history and nostalgia. Relax with lazy days at the beach, building sandcastles and exploring hidden rock pools or take a long walk along the vast stretch of shingle beach. The area has lots of other beach walks, as well many country and woodland trails nearby, perfect for both you and the family dog!
