A fabulous one-bedroom property, perfect for a couple exploring the museums, galleries and historic buildings in the attractive city of Inverness.

Set in a quiet residential area, this first-floor apartment is the perfect base for exploring the Highland city of Inverness, lying just two miles from the city centre's bars, shops and restaurants. Boat trips are available in and around Inverness and for those that would prefer to explore the area on two wheels, there are numerous bike hire shops throughout the city. Loch Ness, the ruins of Urquhart Castle and Drumnadrochit are around 17 miles away or visit the site of the Battle of Culloden (5 miles), where the Jacobite rising occurred in 1745.

This first-floor apartment is accessed via stairs and upon entering the hall, you are welcomed into the cosy lounge/dining area where you can relax on the large, three-seater sofa and watch your favourite movie on the Smart TV. Sit at the pretty dining area opposite to enjoy your evening meal or plan the next day’s activities. Head through the hallway you will find a fully equipped kitchen with an electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer, microwave and washing machine. The double bedroom is bright and comfortable, and the adjacent bathroom has a shower over the bath and WC.

Heading outside, you will find a large, shared garden with a seating area for residents to enjoy and private parking for one car.

The apartment was ideal for the two of us plus our dog. Instructions on how to find the apartment was clear, precise and easy to follow. The welcome pack of fruit, tea, coffee, milk and a few treats for the dog was a lovely touch plus a hand written welcome note from the owner. Whitstable is one of Kent’s most popular seaside towns, not only for its long shingle beaches, dotted with colourful huts and houses, but also for its annual Oyster Festival, when the town really comes alive. Here you can sample this renowned delicacy which has been collected in the area since Roman times and brings visitors from all over the globe to get a glimpse of the first catch of the season. Still a working harbour, you can sample a plethora of seafood from the stalls and restaurants as you watch the fishing boats return from sea, or pop up to the bohemian main street with its quirky colourful shops and galleries. Keep to the seaside theme and hire bikes to ride along the coast to Herne Bay just two miles away, or try the famous inland Crab and Winkle Way, which follows the old railway line between Whitstable and Canterbury and is packed with history and nostalgia. Relax with lazy days at the beach, building sandcastles and exploring hidden rock pools or take a long walk along the vast stretch of shingle beach. The area has lots of other beach walks, as well many country and woodland trails nearby, perfect for both you and the family dog! For a little culture, pay a visit to the town’s famous 18th century Castle and Gardens, Playhouse Theatre and Whitstable Museum and Gallery, all perfect for an afternoon or evening out. Only eight miles north of the cathedral city of Canterbury with its popular glass-fronted Marlowe Theatre, you are also just half an hour away from the up-and-coming seaside town of Margate and 45 minutes away from the port of Dover with its famous white cliffs. Slightly further afield, you will find the historic Cinque Ports towns of amongst others, Rye, Hastings and Tenterden where you will find a variety of spectacular monuments and beautiful castles to visit with all the family. Whitstable really is the perfect place for those who want to get back to how holidays used to be – full of fun, adventure and family.
